Ibrahim – Our only street hero of Hatay
Every day brings emergencies, and we cannot keep up with everything.
We’ve collaborated with rescuers across Turkey. Olmstead H.O.P.E. steps up to raise awareness and funds for the most terrible situations: the lost, resource-deprived areas with no volunteers. Animals constantly reproduce, misery and starvation at an all-time high. Cruelty persists with zero awareness or care. The pain suffocates us; understanding and helping seem unbearable. As part of a new group of rescuers, we’ll do our best to help.
Without volunteers, we’re complicit in this cruel, unnecessary situation inflicted on innocent abandoned souls.
Firstly, we need volunteers to start a TNR project, a work in progress. We need at least two traps.
Around 90% of animals in 15 districts of Hatay, in the southern province, are completely emaciated, diseased, or injured. Most of this suffering stems from neglect and lack of care, food, and water.
The sole street hero in this area is Ibrahim. What a soul he is.
*In his own words: “I’ve had a fondness for animals since childhood. I started actively caring for them at 15, and in 2015, I began feeding animals. In 2018, I fully committed to treating and feeding the sick.
In 2024, I’ve focused on treatment and nutrition. Realizing the dire situation in Hatay, Kirikhan, and its 15 districts, I’ve worked tirelessly, fighting against needless suffering every single day.
