Olmstead’s H.O.P.E.

OLMSTEAD’S H.O.P.E – Help Our Paws and People Everywhere!

H.O.P.E came alive after we rescued the dying Bonbon kitten in Istanbul in 2020; Olmstead ignited the dream a few months later in the Bronx, NYC.

Olmstead was rescued by Carmen and Little Wanderers NYC on Olmstead Avenue in the Bronx. With a huge list of medical problems from A to Z and so sick in her yard, the journey began.

Driven and inspired by this Bronxy boy, Olmstead showed us what kindness and love can do. Donations and so much love came in from our social media posts, connecting many of us globally. It’s amazing how many hearts were touched. Olmstead changed many lives, especially mine and Kate’s, and we were blessed to be his mommies in the US, serving as his caregivers and nurses.

In many countries, there is lots of misery and suffering, and all are doing their best to help. However, it’s beyond hard to witness; walking away means being a part of this suffering. God willing, we are part of Olmstead’s H.O.P.E from the Bronx to Istanbul, with headquarters in Arnavutköy, Istanbul, Turkey.

We have a small kitty pension and rescue. It operates 24/7, especially in rural areas where life is horrendous for many animals, with sickness, starvation, disease, and constant reproduction leading to more misery.

Disabled, seniors, pregnant mummies and babies left to the elements and vulnerable to all. No winter or summer shelters, they die of many things suffering. We work on donations,we all work too and use our own funds,we are full time volunteers. We have foster programs for people that host one or two cats, little kitty families and desperately in need animals.

Our donations help us to support the animals and people in need too. We are available to support all the time. Life is hard for so many.

The families/people are our eyes and ears, they learn about animal care, it gives them a purpose, it’s incredible how much a little saves lives and changes them too.

TNR-Trap nuerter and return is the answer to so much, sterilisation programmes.

Meet Some of the Team♡

Egemen Istanbul

Meet Egemen, a great supporter of Olmstead’s H.O.P.E. for a while, who has since become a very valuable volunteer with us. We thank you for your commitment and hard work. Egemen is always ready to reach out, even after flying his passengers around the world. Our very own captain goes above and beyond to help with rescues, animals in crisis, translations, and adoptions, all while caring for his own family and cats. We are very blessed. Thank you.

Elizabeth H/Q – Istanbul

From Olmstead’s rescue in The Bronx, NYC, to Istanbul, I am fully dedicated to working at Olmstead’s H.O.P.E., providing vacation stays for kitties and volunteering in rescue and street work. I have dedicated my life and energy full-time to saving lives. In each country, the suffering continues on a very large scale. It’s emotionally destructive, with too much pain in our hearts, but we must be their voice and continue trying to make a difference one by one. I love the innocent souls, and I will never understand inflicted suffering or chosen ignorance. Please, dear people, if you can, support our project wherever possible.

Şaziye – Istanbul

Şaziye is our number one lady in Arnavutköy Istanbul.A street hero and mum to all the suffering and abandoned animals. We live in the village with the animals. But it is impossible to keep a cat and a dog at home under Istanbul conditions until my middle son came with a cat, then I started feeding them all on the street. I’ve been feeding as much as I can for about 7 years. We then got a garden, thank goodness. The number of cats and dogs increased there, I tried to support the souls in the roadside and forest areas while. If anyone is sick, I try to help them in their treatment with the support I get from my own means. Its a struggle every day,we never have enough money,so much suffering. We keep going.

Carmen and Kate – The Bronx NYC

Carmen is Olmstead’s fairy Godmother. She rescued our boy originally on Olmstead’s Avenue in the Bronx. Having lots of rescues herself, she and Kate, Olmstead’s other mommy, are constantly working to improve and save lives, rehoming and changing lives as street heroes. Kate, on her travels, is constantly looking out for animals in need, touching lives wherever she goes. Every day is a huge struggle, with so many in need and never enough to go around, but our two superheroes give so much. Please support our Bronx project for Olmstead’s H.O.P.E.

Bolluca Veteriner kliniği – Istanbul

Our truly compassionate and kind doctors at Bolluca Animal Clinic have and continue to support Olmstead’s H.O.P.E. in many ways. They constantly send WhatsApp messages and videos about our patients, and they donated part of the surgery for Sonny Boy, a dog-attack street kitty, and helped us financially. We receive over-the-top assistance with rescues when needed, and they are available for urgent care any day or time. It was my sixth clinic visit to find them. Please take your pets or any street rescue here; they will go above and beyond at discounted prices. We thank you.

Ayşe – Istanbul

Works @ Olmsteads H.O.P.E a few hours a week and does far more than we could expect. She has lived in the village for 17 years. She is our eyes and ears, feeding the street animals whatever she has. With so many animals constantly coming and going, many are born in terrible conditions and are diseased. Ayşe will let us know and help us locate those in need. She is our stand-in if I am elsewhere during an emergency. Our number one trusted individual, she shines as a light for Olmsteads H.O.P.E. Every village needs an Ayşe. Please support Ayşe with food supplies if you can, helping her to aid our furry street kids in desperate need.
