Do your part, stop the misery, what are you waiting for?
FREE STERILISATION
Although kittens can be born at any time of year, the majority arrive during the period between March and September.
Without a doubt, everyone in rescue gets overwhelmed very quickly.
Unfortunately, many people do not believe in sterilizing the animals. They think we are interfering with nature and that it is not for us to decide. This alone is a significant issue. We cannot remove some animals from the street without the risk of escalating aggressive behavior. It is unacceptable.
In our faith, kindness and compassion are absolute musts; we cannot commit cruelty to any living being. It is permissible for us to sterilize these little souls because it stops the cycle of misery and suffering.
Yesterday, on their TNR (trap-neuter-return) rounds, they witnessed many pregnant, unsterilized cats and very sick kittens. Medication was applied to the eyes of the infected babies, and Angela arranged for some workers there to administer it every day. Will they? We do not know, but we also have intense, full-on days, 24/7, and we’re just normal people trying to make a difference in this huge city.
People cannot afford to feed and take care of all the animals being born into our world. They suffer immensely from starvation, sickness, and abuse from humans, children, and dogs.
How can that be acceptable? It isn’t, and we’re up against this behavior and intentionally closed-minded thinking.
It takes so much energy, worry, and anxiety.
Walking around with equipment and bags of supplies, especially in the heat, is very exhausting.
Just this week, Angela and Gulgun, with the help of Egemen and his friend who stepped up, learned, and gave these heroes a helping hand, have taken 22 cats off the street. Another team, running their own program, amazingly captured 58 cats. Around Olmstead’s H.O.P.E., we sterilized 36 cats. Imagine how many suffering babies would be produced if we failed to help them.
It’s endless and continues every day. If we had more support, with people coming to help, growing a team in these areas, learning how to trap and deliver, and spreading out across the city, we could be on an excellent path to healing and educating those who innocently do not understand the importance of this work.
The real truth is, many people do not care! In this huge city, there is only a small percentage of street heroes who help. It’s so upsetting considering people will complain and scream for help if they witness or have animals they do not want close to their homes. But they do nothing to help those animals and alleviate their suffering!
Will you change their lives? Come and volunteer with us on a TNR project. Help us feed these innocent souls. Share our website, become a voice against the cruel misery inflicted on animals in this city and country.
What tourists see is a small area with happy kitties and well-fed, loved animals, but the reality is absolutely disgusting and shocking.
Help us bring awareness, change the mindset, raise funds for food, medicine, and traps. Want to save hundreds? Spay or neuter just one.
Let’s be their voice, their guiding light,
Shine compassion in the darkest night.
For in this city of ancient grace,
Every creature deserves a safe place.
